Lecture:
"Oft Think of Me"
After several years of living in the VT area and working at her small quilt pattern business,
Froncie Quinn approached
the Shelburne Museum about patterning their antique quilts so
the general
public could make reproductions of their wonderful collection. They were
enthusiastic about the idea and the rest, as they say, is
history.
Journey through the 19th and into the 20th century hearing the stories behind Froncie's
collection of museum reproduction
quilts. Experience the thrill she feels when viewing the
actual quilts and ler her be your eyes to creations you may never have the
opportunity to see
in person. Discover which quilt was made by a 14-year-old girl or created from women's old
gowns. Glimpse into
the life of a young woman who constructed a magnificent Mariner's
Compass and learn the story behind
Florence Peto's now-famous Calico Garden Quilt,
shown in the photo on the right. |
